Studio: Mapping the Human Body
The goal of this project was to develop the future into a methodology of rigorous analysis and geometric control of the object. Analytical diagrammatic techniques and representational drawing of plan, elevations, and sections become a series of palettes related to the following critical issues: relation of parts to the whole, optimization of shape, programmatic and operative objectives, material adjacencies, fabrication in nature and construction, scale and composition. The programmatic/functional value that form has is the performative qualities that it can produce. This is a direct relationship of the becoming of form and the specific that it must have to the eventfulness for a programmatic objective. The intent of this project is to map the body both of qualities extensively and extensively. Thinking of the body is as a site in the most specific and abstract way possible.
