Housing

Working in tandem, between the larger complex scale and the smaller unit scale, proposals attempt to understand relationship between overall complex issues and dwelling issues in relation to the given site within NYC. Proposal focuses on the circulation, private versus public areas, natural light, and private/ public interaction. This project, combination of the different functions ties wide variety of people together. Semi-public single loaded corridor creates inner circulation. Strong grid system, that looks systematically random, controls the view from in housing infill NYC and out. Core functions as a spine of the building and scaled to the 1/3 of the overall shape to enable maximum natural light inside the building. The unit becomes a cell and has a strong connection to the complex. Wet walls run in a vertical direction. Windows from both sides of the unit provide air and light circulation. Balconies become an extension of the living space.
